The Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians continues to build.
Yesterday, the USDA announced that funding for four projects, totaling nearly 13 million dollars has been approved for the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. In the coming construction season, Red Lake will break ground on a new 16 Bed Chemical Dependency Treatment Center, a Kidney Dialysis Center, a new Fire Hall in Red Lake and a new Fire Hall in Ponemah.
Chairman Seki explained that the Kidney Dialysis Center and Treatment Center will not cost the Band money since the Band can pay for the new buildings through third party billing. Chairman Seki also mentioned that the Fire Halls will be paid for through agreements with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and will not have cost the Band money.
These new facilities will create more jobs and better serve our tribal membership with vital services.
